Walking & HikingKielder has some stunning walks to offer. Around the lake and streams, deep in the forest, up on the ridges with views almost from coast to coast.Gentle strolls and accessible tracks, or challenging routes with steep climbs and tricky navigation and everything in between - You choose.But be prepared - you may not meet too many others.Kielder is large and our visitors few - if you want the hubub of walking in a queue then Kielder may not be for you ! We have three dogs at home at the moment - so we know what it's like when you want to take them away for a few days.We can recommend some great walks for you and your dog.Our dogs don't live at the B&B so don't worry if your dog is a little shy of others.
Lakeside WayWhy not walk the Lakeside Way?At 26 miles all round the lake there are many options to take:Option 1. - Round in One.Friday evening - Arrive at the B&B - Relax with a pub meal - then early to bedSaturday - Early breakfast and out the door by 8:00am - Packed Lunch on the way - At the B&B after 26 miles its 6pm, quick shower then the pub for a well earned meal Sunday - Lie in and Late Breakfast Option 2 - There and BackSaturday - Arrive at Kielder Dam - Walk an easy 13 miles (N or S shore) - Arrive at B&B - Shower / Bath / Pub MealSunday - Breakfast - Walk back to you car along the other ShoreOption 3 - We can arrange a shuttle to and from most places en route (from the Dam along the South Shore to Kielder and some way along the North shore) - Have a think and give us a call
